How the fund works

A clear, judged process based on community impact.

This is a grant-style award, not a prize draw. Eligible clubs will explain what support they need, what the money would fund and the difference it would make.

Who can apply

  • An active ClearCommittee member club in good standing
  • Pilot, founding and standard-plan clubs
  • A grassroots sports club with an identifiable community benefit
  • A club able to explain and evidence its proposed use of funds

How applications are assessed

  • Demonstrated financial or operational need
  • Expected benefit for players, volunteers and the wider community
  • A specific, realistic and responsible use of the award
  • Evidence that the club can deliver the proposed project

Annual funding

For each profitable financial year, 5% of post-tax profit before dividends will be allocated to the fund, subject initially to a maximum award of £10,000. The confirmed award value will be published when applications open.

If there is no profit

No award will be due for a loss-making financial year. The scheme itself does not end: it pauses for that year and resumes when ClearCommittee next records a profitable financial year.

Fairness and independence: published criteria, conflicts-of-interest declarations and a documented assessment will form part of the final scheme rules before the first application window opens.
The annual process

Simple to understand. Accountable by design.

1

Fund confirmed

The available award is calculated after the financial year closes.

2

Applications open

Eligible clubs submit their need, plan and expected community benefit.

3

Applications judged

Submissions are assessed against the published criteria and conflicts process.

4

Impact reported

The selected club receives support and later shares how the award was used.

Important: these headline commitments describe the intended scheme. Detailed rules, accounting treatment, application dates and award conditions will be finalised with professional legal and accounting review before the first fund opens.
